CLG defeat SPLYCE, to Nor. Arena final

CLG triumphed over SPLYCE late in the North American night at the first semifinal for the Northern Arena 2015 (8-16 on de_train, 16-7 on de_dust2, and 16-8 on de_cbble).

With group stages for the $20,000 Northern Arena having concluded on the event's first day, two teams still remained at the venue for a late night game between Group A's first seed and Group B's second seed: CLG and SPLYCE.

It was Alec "⁠Slemmy⁠" White and his crew who took the first map of de_train 16-8 from CLG (currently ranked 13th in our world ranking) and brought the game to the more experienced team's court.

CLG survived a small scare from SPLYCE

However, Stephen "⁠reltuC⁠" Cutler got his men to buckle down on the later two maps of the series, with CLG picking up comfortable wins on de_dust2 (16-7) and de_cbble (16-8).

The former map also saw a rare moment where Peter "⁠ptr⁠" Gurney was killed by a smoke grenade during a two-versus-two retake.

The second semifinal of the Northern Arena 2015 kicks off tomorrow at 16:00 with compLexity taking on Nexus.
